Most research-grade objectives are corrected for a cover glass thickness of 0.170 mm. Using cover glasses with this exact thickness minimizes spherical aberration and ensures optimal image quality.
The designation “H” (High precision) refers to the tight tolerance of 170 ± 5 µm, meaning extremely low variability between individual coverslips. This consistency guarantees reproducible results across experiments and makes 1.5H cover glasses the preferred choice for fluorescence and advanced imaging techniques.

High-quality microscope slides ensure excellent flatness, which is essential for precise imaging. Depending on your needs, you can choose slides with a frosted end for quick and easy written labeling, or slides with 45° chamfered corners that provide higher comfort and safety in everyday handling.
